THE AFRICAN RAV4

Since it's difficult to use public buses in Zanzibar, if you like to get out of Stone Town to explore the rest of the island, the best way is driving yourself. So I dropped by a travel agency to rent a car and got the Japanese domestic version of the 2nd-gen Toyota RAV4. It was tired, but came with proven Toyota quality that was tough enough to deal with rough island roads.
ザンジバルでは公共バスが使いにくいため、ストーンタウンを出て島を巡ってみたい場合は自分で運転するのがいい。そこで、クルマを借りるために旅行代理店に立ち寄ったら、日本国内仕様の第2世代トヨタRAV4をくれた。使い古されてはいるが、信頼感たっぷりのトヨタクオリティ。島の悪路にも十分に立ち向かえる。

They drive on the left in Tanzania, perfect for secondhand cars imported from Japan. Japanese cars, including buses and trucks, dominate the streets of Zanzibar.
タンザニアは左側通行なので、日本から持ってきた中古車には最適。ザンジバルの道では、バスとトラックを含め、ほとんど日本車しか見かけない。
