COFFEE WITH THE BLUE DRAGON

Afternoon coffee at the roof of The Hotel Seiryu (Blue Dragon) Kyoto Kiyomizu—one of the latest spots in a more than 1000-year-old capital. The buildings of the hotel were converted from the former Kiyomizu Elementary School built in 1933. It has been said that the blue dragon is the guardian of the eastern part of Kyoto, where the hotel is located. The rooftop bar has a LA feel, but it comes with a photogenic five-story pagoda. These good mix of history, culture, and the universal trend is what Tokyo is missing. As a Tokyoite, I'm jealous.
