Moved from Raffles to a location two blocks away to try this relatively new hotel. The Capitol Kempinski uses two classic buildings—the 1930 Capitol Building and the 1904 Stamford House—and is the only Leading Hotels of the World hotel in Singapore downtown. Checking out the former Asia Insurance Building, now housing the Ascott Raffles Place Singapore hotel and apartments. This handsome deco skyscraper was built in 1954 and once was the tallest building in Southeast Asia. After 882 days, I'm finally flying internationally. To celebrate my first post-COVID international flight, I enjoyed a weird combination of a noodle bowl and a croissant on SQ's one-year-old A350.
