GLORIOUS WINGS II

This amazing photo book published in 1992 is a gift from Mr. Ryu Koakimoto who is an aviation journalist, a travel writer, an ex-correspondent, and a member of Nikon Kenkyukai (Society). Pages are filled with beautiful pictures of passenger planes from 1920s Handley Page to the Airbus A330/340 including pre-war seaplanes and rare French birds. Mr. Koakimoto himself wrote a chapter for piston-engine-powered airliners. This book tells me there are more things I have to learn about airliners.

1992年に出版されたこの素晴らしい写真集は、航空ジャーナリストであり、トラベルライターであり、元特派員であり、ニコン研究会会員でいらっしゃる小秋元龍さんからのプレゼント。1920年代のハンドレページからエアバスA330/340までの旅客機の美しい写真で埋め尽くされたページの中には、戦前の飛行艇や珍しいフランス機の姿もある。レシプロ旅客機を取り上げた章をお書きになっているのは、小秋元さんご本人。この本は、エアライナーについて僕が学ばなくてはならないことはまだまだ沢山ある、と教えてくれる。
