This architectural gem was built as a guest villa for the king in 1962 by French architect, and has been witnessing twisted fate of Cambodia. After leaving royalty, first it had been turned into a high-end hotel, later taken over by Khmer Rouge and severely destroyed. Next it was turned into a hotel again, then in the end, ruined again. In 2002, Amanresorts discovered it and renovated staying true to the original design. The room they gave us is one of 12 suites in the original building.
