TRANSIT AT TOYAMA STATION

The Limited Express Wide View Hida I took from the land of the ice and snow arrived at Toyama Station.

At the adjacent platform, I found the 413 series EMU train operated by the Ainokaze Toyama Railway. The train is named Toyama Emaki (Emaki means an illustrated narrative). The Ainokaze Toyama Railway, a third-sector railway jointly owned by Toyama Prefecture, local municipalities, and private sector businesses, took over the local passenger operation on the ex-JR Hokuriku Main Line in the Toyama Prefecture when the Hokuriku Shinkansen was built.

Here at Toyama, I change trains to the Kagayaki of the Hokuriku Shinkansen.

A night train to Tokyo. Quiet and smooth.
