HET SCHIP PART1

A rainy day in Amsterdam. I'm checking out Het Schip—a masterpiece of the Amsterdam School of Expressionist architecture. Het Schip, meaning "the Ship" in English, was built in 1919 by the Dutch architect Michel de Klerk who passed away at the young age of 39 as an apartment building for the low-income residents commissioned by a socialist group. Its ship-like design reminds me of the Simeon Levi House, an International Style building in Tel Aviv, which was built 16 years later.
