KYOTO'S CULTURAL FRONTLINES

Afternoon coffee at Salon de thé François near Shijo-Ohashi Bridge. This cafe was established in 1934 as a place for people to discuss pacifism, socialism, and avant-garde art. During 1936 and 1937, it supported the distribution of an anti-fascist tabloid, "Saturday." And it is said that the cafe's profit became a secret source for funding the Japanese Communist Party.

From a cultural magnet of the Showa era to a cultural hot spot of the Reiwa era. Next, I checked out the lobby of Ace Hotel Kyoto.
