The Malacca River is like the main street of Malacca. If you walk along it, you can go anywhere—the Jonker Walk old town, the waterfront area, bar alleys, the ferry terminal, and even a modern shopping mall. The town's main square, where the red 18th-century Dutch-built church stands, is also on the river.
マラッカ川はマラッカのメインストリートのよう。旧市街のジョンカーウォークも、ウォーターフロントエリアも、飲み屋街も、フェリーターミナルも、モダンなショッピングモールも、すべて川沿いにあるので、どこかへ行きたければ川に沿って歩けばいい。18世紀にオランダ人が建てた赤い教会が目印になっている街の中心的な広場も、川の真横にある。
