THE FORMER ISHIKAWA PREFECTURAL OFFICE BUILDING

This is the former Ishikawa prefectural office building built in 1924, which is now converted to a community facility. The building was designed by Kenkichi Yabashi, a giant of Japanese architecture in the Meiji/Taisho era and a high-level official of the Ministry of Finance. A large twin chinkapin tree in front of the entrance perfectly complements the symmetrical facade. They even placed the signboards properly.
