ISHINOMAKI HOME BASE

I could finally visit the Ishinomaki Home Base run by Ishinomaki Laboratory—an Ishinomaki-based furniture brand with a global reach. This place has lodging spaces, a cafe, a shop, a craft studio, and a showroom of the brand under one roof, and it is the icon of the creative side of the post-tsunami Ishinomaki. Today I had a lunch meeting with the Fisherman Japan team at the sun-filled cafe space. My pick for lunch was the sandwiches using mackerel—Ishinomaki's specialty.

石巻から世界展開をしている家具ブランド、石巻工房が作った石巻ホームベースにようやく来ることができた。一つの屋根の下に宿泊スペース、カフェ、ショップ、クラフトスタジオ、そして石巻工房のショールームを持つこの場所は、震災後の石巻で生まれた新しいクリエイティビティのシンボル。今日はFisherman Japanのチームとのランチミーティングで、明るいカフェスペース使わせてもらった。ランチのチョイスはサバサンド。石巻なので。
