After a journey on the
tram line, I enjoyed riding the suburban trains of Toyohashi Railroad. Same as
Chichibu Railway,
Ueda Dentetsu,
Hokuriku Railroad, and
Nagano Electric Railway, this route uses the former Tokyu cars, and what you see here are the ex-7200 series EMUs. The car I took was built in 1968—the year I was born. I still vividly remember these cars with a recognizable cab shape were running on Tokyu Mekama Line and Ikegami Line.
路面電車に続いて、豊橋鉄道が運行する近郊線電車に乗ってみた。
秩父鉄道、
上田電鉄、
北陸鉄道、そして
長野電鉄と同様に元東急のクルマが使われているが、こちらで活躍しているのは旧7200系。今回乗った車両は僕と同じ1968年生まれだった。見分けがつきやすい顔をしたこの車両が東急の目蒲線や池上線を走っていたのを、今でもよく憶えている。
