I found Bogotá is an underrated or undiscovered food city. From simple grilled dishes to the modern takes of traditional Colombian cuisine, they have a rich variety of choices. And whatever I ate, they were fabulous.

Among them, my dinner at El Cielo, a modern creative restaurant near the Four Seasons I was staying at, was unforgettable. Their tasting menu was almost like a collection of art pieces. In one instance, I was asked to place my hands over a large vacant bowl, and a server suddenly poured warm molten chocolate on my hands. Then, she prompted me to lick the chocolate off my fingers and palms. So I did. They explained that the course was their version of the Colombian journey. And like any journey, it included sensory experiences.
